Apple Cottage is a Grade II listed, 17th century cottage in the beautiful South Downs village of Alfriston, East Sussex.

It has a huge inglenook fireplace, a wood burning stove and a cottage garden full of roses and birdsong.

We’ve repaired the historic fabric of our cottage with the help of local experts in traditional flintwork, lath-and-plaster, lime, clay, roofing, joinery and ironmongery.

We’ve also added state-of-the-art lighting, low-energy appliances, breathable paint and seven different types of insulation to maximise its energy efficiency.

It’s been a privilege to transform Apple Cottage into one of the most environmentally friendly small, historic cottages in the South Downs National Park.
